Crystals are energy tools!
|
|
Being an important part of the organic whole that is the universe, crystals are
finely attuned to shifts in the cosmic energies, as represented by astrological
configurations in the moving skies. The major asteroid Chiron is the significator
of the positive new changes taking place in our consciousness as a part of the New
Age shift. It relates to holistic healing, non-invasive food practices, and the
general attunement to nature and ecology.
The astrological Chiron rules over crystals, as symbols of rainbow bridges connecting
the material worldly consciousness with higher spiritual dimensions. When important
planetary alignments to Chiron occur in our individual horoscopes, we begin to access
these crystal energies in our lives.
Crystals, to my mind, are bright packages of divinity to invite into our home and
hearts at any time. This divinity is really a reflection of our own inner self,
in interaction with the elemental energies that the crystals bear in such abundance
throughout the world.
Crystals help in many ways in meditation and in advanced spiritual work, in developing
focus, in exploring astral dimensions, past lives, dreamwork, creative visualisation,
manifestation, kundalini and the chakras, and in healing. Working with these energy
tools is a matter of playful experimentation with light, colour and vibrational
power, and it can yield amazing results.

In kundalini work especially, dealing with the power vortices in the interconnected
grid of the energy body aligned with the spinal column, crystals help in purifying
and balancing the chakras of whirling and oscillating, pulsating energy. This grid
has a very strong impact on the nervous system especially, and through it, on the
entire body.
Crystals bring about etheric attunement with natural elements and energies, creating
bridges between the different levels and aspects of consciousness represented by
the kundalini chakras.
These connections bring about heightened awareness, transformation and evolution
to higher levels, resulting in authentic change.

Conscious work with crystals at the level of mind, body and spirit over a period
of time ensures that the changes are positive and harmonious with outer cosmic energies,
aligning the personal karma with the greater universal purpose.
Our subatomic particles then begin to oscillate in a uniform and harmonious
manner, in a way that nurtures love, wholeness, harmony, positivity, good health
and receptivity to the universal principle of abundance.
Taking these changes to their logical conclusion ensures that we learn to give up
narrow selfishness, to become charged transmitters of compassion, wisdom and attunement
to gentle universal values. It involves cultivating an attitude of light living
and open sharing, as healers and detached messengers of wisdom and bliss, in a very
grounded, practical way.
Come open your heart to that nice bit of sparkle, colour, lustre and beauty, and
you will be surprised to discover a unique resonance arising within your own being,
bearing the same allure and magic. Crystals open new doorways for a joyous exploration
of the unfolding mystery of consciousness, in interaction with the expanding universe.

The unfolding mysteries of consciousness
Each crystal has that little bit of fire which gives it luminescence and energy;
water which gives that liquid lustre, dissolving rigidities of old patterns; the
promise of infinite possibilities, which is the air element contained in the empty
spaces within; and ether which lends it uniqueness and an inspirational quality.
Earth is what makes the crystal a creature of Her own body, out of the tectonic
shifts deep within Her womb, the power of manifestation and making real on the material
plane!

Some people believe that every crystal has its own living spirit, ever knowing,
loving and helpful in endless wisdom and kindness, come to help you along in evolution
towards higher consciousness. Such spirits are called devas
or the illumined ones, the elementals, gnomes, and so on. They are often depicted
as light, colourful, angelic, fairy-like creatures.
I have an inexpensive Tibetan key chain which is really a good luck charm containing
an amber bead with a spidery fossil form inside, along with corals and silky blue
tassels. I love to hold it with the amber bead nestled within the palm, carrying
it with me at all times. A clairvoyant friend, who did not have much experience
with crystals, took a close look and revealed that it contained a beautiful, golden
etheric form. She described it as a goddess-like being, eager to help unfold mysteries
in everyday living and attract good fortune.
Whatever be the truth of these beliefs and visions, I think there is also a very
important psychic mechanism which enlivens our interface with these fascinating
objects, which is the principle of pranapratishtha
– the Hindu tradition of first cleansing, purifying and then imbuing a lifeless
idol with divinity. Literally, it means investing an inanimate object with the dignity
of the life force, so that it takes on the quality of exalted luminescent consciousness—pure,
sattvic and ethereal in nature.
The transforming life force in the sacred space
As we observe, interact and repeatedly enact rituals, a transformation begins to
evolve of its own, connecting subject and object in the sacred space charged with
adoring, loving energy imbued with electrified intent, sankalpa.
The ritual is rendered all the more powerful with the use of light / fire (lamp),
colour (powders and unguents), water, fragrance (perfumes and incense), flowers,
sanctified food, all of which unifies our senses and multi-fold sheaths in a vortex
of empowered interaction, entranced by sonorous chanting and musical rhythms.
In the course of repeated projection and introjection, merging and separation with
our own rarefied consciousness, the object begins to manifest divinity, the Truth
that lies both within and without. Thus consecrated and invoked, it begins to guide,
heal and bless us towards success in our material and spiritual endeavours.
Very often in the past, I have noted with fascination the magical transformation
over a period of days, of the ordinary clay Ganesh idols into celestial beings invited
into our homes for munificence and well-being. Crystals too can be similarly enlivened
and energised following the principles and rituals of pranapratishtha, or they can
be used in the ritual process to magnify and focus the energies and intent, bringing
in greater good fortune.

Rituals aside, as I interact playfully with crystals on a daily basis, I see the
same quality of numinescence transforming mere showpieces or clutter into unique
sparks of brightness that first grab attention and then begin to transform consciousness
in subtle degrees through the enchanting play of light and allure.
I have observed that in the case of most crystals, it is the predominant Earth energy
of the divine Ganesh, the elephant-headed god of wisdom, inspiration and good fortune
that rules, while at other times it is the dynamic goddess energy that moves all
things living and ‘inanimate’. Thus occasional reverent ritualistic offerings of
light, aroma, flowers, oil, milk and honey accompanied with holy chants serve to
enliven and energise crystals and mandalas. The whole living space then appears
to be charged with connection to the divine. The result is effortless serenity,
creative inspiration and an overall sense of lightness.
