Sample Breathing Exercise

Kindly refer to the Disclaimer before proceeding with the breathing exercise.

Given below is the first exercise of the course. Please note that the Breathing Exercise has to be got into very gradually. You have to follow the instructions given with the exercise very strictly. The affirmation for the exercise has to follow the exercise. Please note that the exercises have to be done in sequence as they lock into each other. The exercise that follows is the first breathing exercise of the course.

Breath No. 1: The Memory - Developing Breath

Step-1: Front View> Step-1: Side View Step-2 Step-3 Step-4

Sit in a straight-backed chair, or stool, with the spine erect. Hands on the thighs, palms downward. Feet: Heels must be together with toes slightly apart. Shoulders: Relaxed (not drawn up), with no tension in the neck. In this position, begin to get the rhythmic action by pulling the head backward, without strain, and without moving the rest of the body, then downward.

As the head swings back, take a deep breath in through the nostrils (evenly and smoothly).

As soon as the inhalation is complete with the backward swing of the head, start exhaling vigorously through the teeth, while the head swings forward and downward - a deep forceful exhalation.

Repeat this process of inhalation through the nostrils (as the head swings back) and exhalation through the teeth vigorously and forcefully (as the head swings forward and downwards), seven times (seven swings back, and seven forward, like the pendulum of a clock) without pause, the forward motion of the head beginning as soon as the backward motion stops. Then rest a few moments, watching and feeling the different sensations of your body. Then do another seven breaths - then a few moments rest: and so on until seven sevens have been breathed. As you become familiar with this exercise you may do seven breaths, and after a few moments' rest, do three rounds of 14 breaths, taking few moments' rest after each round.

Affirmation To Be Memorized
"Now I imagine a great light at the top of my head. The top of my head is heavy and relaxed, the forehead is relaxed, the eyes are heavy and relaxed, the muscles of the face are withdrawn, no pressure on the teeth, the jaw gently drops, the arms and hands are very heavy… but, Oh, how happy I feel. I feel happy all over, particularly in my beautiful face. My face is bathed in smiles. My whole body seems bathed in the blushes of my smiles. I feel a gentle pressure from within outwards, taking away all the little lines of care, worry, trouble, fear… I feel happy all over. Now the light comes down. The chest is relaxed, the abdomen drops, as the light goes down, to the tips of my toes.
Now I imagine that great light at the back of my neck. I am looking down over my beautiful spine. It seems that I am looking at a great waterfall, with the sunshine playing on it. I see a countless number of tiny specks of iridescent light… light… and I know my whole body to be full of light. 'If thine eye be single' the Single Eye, the Eternal Eye, the Third Eye, the Spiritual Eye (the Eye that I am now using)… 'If thine eye be single, thy whole body will be of light.' And I know that every cell in that countless, countless number of cells in my body is a light, a lamp, a torch, bringing to me the light of the divine wisdom within me, the light being in perfect correspondence with the flame, as the flame is in perfect correspondence with the fire… the fire of divine love that is in the centre of centres of my inmost being.

And now… feeling happy, giving thanks… really, without letting myself know it, I take a little breath and a long, deep, sweeping, sweeping sigh.
Now I take another little breath… and a quick sigh."
