"Life
shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage."

-Anais Nin |

Who doesn't feel scared? So many moments of our life are spent
in running away from uncomfortable situations, unwanted relationships,
distressing circumstances. We become immobilized when time comes
for us to act, to face ourselves! We cower, shudder and surrender
to our fear!
Fear
takes us further away from ourselves, it makes us guilty! Many
a times we don't even know what we are fearful about.
We see the snake in the darkness and run away scared, not bothering
to check out that it is just a rope lying ahead of us.
What is needed is just a little courage, small baby steps to
conquer the irrationalities of the mind, just a small dose of
"I will do it, no matter what!"
So,
do not escape anxiety! Face it and you will see how it loses
its sting. Transform your fright into a companion who accompanies
you in your journey ahead. Follow Susan Jeffers advice and "
Feel the fear, and Do it anyway!" Expand your Horizon!

How
is being spiritual different from being religious? |
|
|
|
| Answer |
|
For
most of the people, being spiritual means being religious!
Moreover, generally being religious means following either
Hinduism, Islam or Christianity or some other religion.
Religion,
when it was conceived, was meant to provide its followers
with certain guidelines for living which were specific
to the location and time frame where it evolved and where
it was practiced. These guidelines were broad and circumstantial,
and were never meant to be followed blindly without
understanding its relevance, by its believers. Flexibility,
suitability and adaptability guided the tenets of religion.
It
was the followers who brought in the dos and don'ts, the
inflexibilities, the rigidities! Instead of using the
principles as guidelines for living a meaningful life,
the guidelines started to be accepted as the rules
of life. Jesus Christ was not a Christian, his followers
were Christians, and Buddha was not a Buddhist his followers
were! Even when religion moved from one part of the world
to the other, or evolved over time, the rules were not
changed: they became the doctrines to be followed or
else…….
The
final objective of every religion has been
to reach or realize God, though each one has a different
path to follow, different ways of helping you to reach
this! Though these guidelines have been established to
make the journey of the traveler simpler, the rigidities
have created so much discordance that a lot of atrocities
have been committed in the name of religion!
Though
the tenets of religion have been established at the spiritual
level, the followers have begun to follow it at the body
conscious level. This has given rise to exploitation of
one man over the other in the name of religion and has
created differences! The whole concept of what is religious
and what is spiritual has become mixed up!
Really
speaking if you are spiritual, it doesn't matter if you
are a Hindu or a Muslim, male or female, king or pauper
because spirituality is not judged by any rules, only
judged by your relationship with God! Spirituality really
speaking is that spontaneity which comes from within and
makes you forget about yourself at a body consciousness
level. There is no "I" when you are spiritual, there are
no rules if you are a spiritual person. You don't say,
" I have done something because I am a spiritual person,"
you realize that you are just a conduit. There is no Ahankar
( false pride). Being Spiritual is a state of "Being",
which is what every religion strives to tell You!
